This quote means a lot to me.
It’s so beautiful and when you fall in love this is what you’re dying to ask your partner (and it’s what you want to hear!)
Can I keep you?
Like forever and ever?
So I’m putting my new printer to good use and here is the latest card.
Any real Pokemon trainer will remember this was the image displayed when firing up Pokemon Red. Did it mean that out of the Original Starting Three, Charmander was the favourite? I have to say I’d always choose him but was this start-up image the reason? I do think it was easier to beat Gary in that first battle with the fire pokemon? It was a while ago now though haha.
I finished the black and white print with coloured pencils just to bring it to life a bit more. Hope you like it 🙂
I love Stitch as I’m sure you can tell. If I’m making Disney characters out of strange but wonderful beads then Stitch has to make an appearance.
And here he is. I designed him myself so he should be a very unique Stitch.
This was actually my second attempt at making him. My Dad got involved in the first one haha, telling me to turn the iron up because they were taking too long to melt! Well increasing the temperature up didn’t help and instead resulted in Stitch basically being burnt.
I got my own back though and made my Dad a lovely melted keyring out of it and hid it in his bag. My sister and I can’t wait till he finds it haha 🙂
I really like how the designs turn out with hama beads. I wanted to turn them into keyrings or fridge magnets.
For this, I needed key chains and a roll of magnet and had no idea where I could purchase them besides online.
Then it sprung to mind, Hobbycraft!
I made my way over to the branch in Wolverhampton. I can’t believe I haven’t been before! Every aisle was full of inspiration. I could have spent a fortune in there if I wasn’t careful!
It’s definitely safe to say Hobbycraft is my new favourite store 🙂
Until this afternoon I hadn’t heard of Hama beads. I was browsing through Pokemon-themed art on Google images earlier for some inspiration and the same beaded creations kept popping up. They looked really cute and I’d never seen anything like them before. I couldn’t work out how they were made… were the beads glued together? Threaded maybe?
Nope. None of the above. How about MELTED together? Using an iron!
By this point, I was intrigued! I had to buy some of these Hama beads to try it out for myself. After work I went to Toys R Us (where my sister and I spent more time reminiscing and looking at toys than we did hunting for beads). We found some beads but it was quite difficult to find a pack with the right colours and the right sized pegboard for what I needed (I already had Pikachu in mind). After much deliberation we managed to leave Toys R Us satisfied and without spending a fortune.
Hama(bead)Time…
Following an example I found online, I placed the colourful beads into a Pikacha shape.
Now for the fun part. Placing the iron-paper over the design and ironing carefully and in circular motions over the design for a few minutes melts the beads together. It really worked; magic!
It is advised you iron the back too once it’s cooled down, for added durability. The end result is a cute plasticky, rubbery design. Perfect for a keyring or fridge magnet. I personally want to use them on greetings cards.
Very glad I discovered these ‘fuse’ beads. I also read they can be called Perler beads.
Have you ever used them?
I also went on to create a cute batman 🙂
As I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, a great deal of my time as a kid was spent being a Pokemon Trainer.
Sigh. How I loved Pokemon Yellow.
Based on this, I was quite shocked to realise I’ve never painted anything Pokemon related!
I had one piece of wood left and chose to paint a retro gameboy Ash and Pikachu.
Anyone who played good old Yellow will remember that Pikachu would lovingly follow Ash around wherever he went (unless he’d fainted haha).
Here it is, start to finish… 🙂
PS: they just don’t make Pokemon like they used to…
With V Fest fast approaching, I decided to paint my £9.99 Wellies in an attempt to make them less drab.
Dancing the paintbrush over them with some acrylic paint turned out good enough for my sister to ask for hers done too! They do look pretty.
Quite excited now 🙂
Gonna struggle to carry all of our stuff!
Lined up here is a few of my favourite quotes ❤
We have…
'Always', said Snape. This makes my head explode with feels but we'll get to that in another post! Of course from Harry Potter, where else? Truly beautiful.
Disney's 'Make a wish', because seriously, what's the point of living if you don't dream?
Followed by more HP, 'You're a Wizard Harry,'. Why couldn't Hagrid have broken into my shed-like holiday home and whispered that to me?…
Then we have even more Harry Potter and then a little more Disney.
Something is missing here…
Thanks for the Adventure, now go have a new one!
It can’t be my favourite anything without an appearance from UP x
